Dr. Tom Dickey has been a practicing veterinarian in Oregon since 1999, bringing a wealth of expertise in both clinical medicine and research. Before earning his veterinary degree, he completed undergraduate studies in Anthropology and Zoology at the University of Oklahoma, where he also worked as a graduate teaching assistant. Dr. Dickey conducted research at Emory University and the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center before graduating from Oklahoma State University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. Following graduation, he managed the veterinary school's laser surgery laboratory.
After relocating to Oregon, Dr. Dickey practiced as an associate veterinarian while also contributing to research as a faculty member at Oregon Health and Science University. A Certified Fear Free Professional, he is passionate about ensuring a calm and stress-free experience for his patients.
Dr. Dickey is a longtime resident of Southwest Portland, where he lives with his wife, Michelle Judd, three dogs, and a dysfunctional parrot. In his free time, he enjoys playing guitar, singing harmony, and reflecting on his fascinating past work with chimpanzees and other primates.
