PRE-ANESTHESIA INSTRUCTIONS

The health of your pet is important to us. To minimize complications and to ensure a smooth recovery, please follow these directions.

1. THE NIGHT BEFORE ANESTHESIA:

1. Withhold food after 8:00 pm
2. Withhold water after midnight*

*For older animals and animals with compromised kidney function, please call us for specific recommendations.

2. THE MORNING OF ANESTHESIA:

DOGS: Walk your dog within 1 hour of drop off. Please do not give your dog any treats.

3. WHEN DROPPING YOUR PET OFF:

CATS: Cats should be in a carrier. Please label with your name and your pet’s (If you do not have a carrier we can provide you with a cardboard carrier for a minimal cost.)

DOGS: Dogs should be on leash and collar or harness, labeled with your name and your pet’s.

4. CALL AFTER 3:00 PM to schedule a pickup time and a technician or doctor check-out.
